Transition of Instructional Data Entry from Data Editing System for Instructional Information (DESII) to Banner
DESII Sunset
Budget and Institutional Analysis (BIA) has launched a project to sunset the DESII and transition all instructional data collection to Banner. It is our intent that these changes will be fully operational by Academic Year 2026-27.
During Academic Year 2025-26, DESII will remain operational, and DESII editors should continue to use the system as normal.
New Data Entry Requirements in Banner
Starting in December 2025, Banner Schedulers began entering additional instructional data into Banner based on new requirements communicated by OUR (see links at right side of page for details).
Expectations for AY 2025-26
For Academic Year 2025-26, DESII editing and Banner data entry will proceed in parallel. Upon sunset of DESII (planned for Summer 2026), Banner data entry will continue, and Banner will serve as the sole system of record for instructional data.
