Student Accounts, Fees and Collections

Student Accounting manages student account billing, university receivables and the collection of past-due balances. This page explains how billing works, your responsibilities for maintaining your account and the steps that may occur if an account becomes delinquent.

Billing and Student Accounts

Students manage their accounts through Aggie Bill, UC Davis' online student billing and payment system.

Billing statements are produced monthly. Students and authorized users receive an email notification when a new statement is available.

Once a student is no longer enrolled, billing statements are mailed to the student's billing or mailing address on file. It is the student's responsibility to maintain current contact information with the university and monitor their account, regardless of whether a billing notification is received.

Students can update their contact information through the Student Self-Service Portal.

Employees and other non-student customers receive paper billing statements mailed on the 22nd of each month to the most recent address on file.

Your Responsibility

Students are responsible for reviewing their account regularly and paying all charges by the published due dates.

Failure to receive a billing notification does not relieve students of their responsibility to pay outstanding balances on time.

If you have questions about a charge or anticipate difficulty making a payment, contact Student Accounting as soon as possible. Addressing concerns early may help prevent late fees or collection activity.

Past-Due Accounts

Unpaid balances may be subject to late fees, financial holds and other restrictions that can affect registration and other university services.

Student Accounting monitors outstanding accounts, sends monthly billing statements and works with students to resolve unpaid balances before additional collection actions are necessary.

Collections

Accounts that remain unpaid may be referred for collection activity.

Accounts that remain unpaid for more than five months without an approved payment arrangement may be referred to a collection agency and reported to the credit bureaus. Accounts may also be referred to the California Franchise Tax Board Interagency Intercept Program, when applicable.

If your account has been referred to a collection agency, please work directly with that agency to resolve your balance.
