Data Insight Guides

Digging into the data to uncover what matters

About the Data Insight Guides

Created by BIA in Fall 2024, the Data Insight Guides (DIG) are individual data representatives from units across UC Davis, working together to promote responsible and transparent data use in campus decision making. Each Data Insight Guide is appointed by their division’s leadership to represent their unit and contribute to campuswide data understanding. Most units have one to two Guides serving in this role.

What We Do

As a collaborative group, guides help dig deeper into campus metrics — bringing context, clarity, and insights back to their departments to support informed decisions. DIG meets quarterly to:

  • Review high-level institutional data
  • Preview and provide feedback on new dashboards
  • Explore focused topics related to student, employee, and research data

Talk to your Data Insight Guide.

Learn more about data from your DIG member. We welcome your input on future campus data topics.

Find your guide on the DIG Members page.
